The sun hits my face,
Piercing through the blinds,
I stumble out of bed and see the damage done to my place last night,
I'm brushing my teeth,
And spitting out the taste of beer in the sink,
I look into the mirror and feel the empty close around me.
Then I notice the stains on my shirt,
I shouldn't hurt like this,
I was fllying last night but now I'm crashing and I,
Don't feel as if I'll ever fly again,
Last night is over and all I'm left with are these stains on my shirt.
I called you up,
At 3am,
Just to ask if you missed me at all,
You said "David it's not easy, but you'll learn to live without me"
And so I said my goodbye
As I head back outside and zone out as my friends talk over cigarettes.
Now I'm scratching at these stains on my shirt,
It shouldn't hurt like this,
